A dad who had a penis growing from his arm for six years says he 'feels like a real man again' after doctors were able to reattach it to its proper place.
Malcolm MacDonald lost his old penis after it fell off into the toilet due to an infection in 2010.
Doctors were able to build him a new one which initially had to be grafted to his arm, with the 47-year-old describing the past few years as a 'nightmare', the Mirror reports.
However, he hopes he has now 'reached a turning point in his life' after a nine-hour operation to have his member reattached to the correct area was a success.
The 47-year-old discussed his health ordeal in a Channel 4 documentary airing tonight (May 2).
He said: "It was a nine-hour op. The first thing I did was look down and I was like, 'Oh my days. They got it this time'."
He went on to gush: "I feel like a real man again."
His penis was said to have dropped off in 2010 following a horrific blood infection.
Doctors built him a new six-inch penis which was originally due to be attached between his legs in 2015, but a lack of oxygen in his blood meant in it initially had to be grafted to his arm.
Then, thanks to a mix of hospital delays and the Covid pandemic, the £50,000 NHS-funded task meant his penis had to stay on his arm for a while.
He told the documentary however: "It's something to tell the grandchildren, isn't it?"
The darts player revealed he even had to learn how to tuck his darts under his member.
It had been created by Professor David Ralph at London's University College Hospital, who made it out of flesh from the man's arm in order to let him feel.
Eventually, it's said he will be able to prepare it for sex thanks to a pump in his scrotum which will fill it with a saline solution.
Malcolm revealed the op could be huge for his future. He confessed: "This could be a turning point in my life.
"My luck in life hasn’t been too good so far, but it can only go bad for so long, can’t it?
"Can you imagine six years of your life with a penis swinging on your arm? It’s been a nightmare, but it’s gone now — the little bugger."
The Man with a Penis on His Arm airs on Channel 4 tomorrow at 10.05pm.
