Dad tells son he looks like dead great-gran in hilarious ancestry comparison

A dad told his 28-year-old son he looked "so like" his long-dead great-grandmother in a hilarious ancestry picture comparison.

Greig Wilson was dismayed when his father sent him a picture of his late great-gran with an attached message reading he looked "so like her".

After sharing the images and his father's message online, thousands of social media users saw the hilarious side - with the post racking up 20,000 likes in just hours.

The oil refinery worker, from Dunfermline, Fife, captioned his post: "Not heard from my dad in a while."

Hi father, Murray Wilson, wrote: "Hi son, hope you are well.

"Your aunty Phyllis sent me this yesterday. It's a photo of your great gran Wilson.

"You are so like her."

The black and white image shows what appears to be a stern-looking young woman sporting a fairly severe "bowl cut" hairstyle.

Greig, who has an impressive range of tattoos his great-grandmother would have been unlikely to approve of, was not impressed.

Speaking today, Greig admitted that looking like his great-grandmother was "not the plan."

He said: "I just laughed at first as it's a very old photo.

"But then I started to double take at it to see if any similarities."

He added: "Hopefully I don't look like a woman anyways. That's certainly not the plan."

The picture prompted hilarity on social media.

@DeejayDarby posted the picture of Greig's great gran and said: "Absolute spit man."
