The family of a man who was beaten black and blue inside a hospital ward have hit out at the Glasgow medical facility.
Daniel Paton was attacked by another patient, with a pool cue, in the Portree Ward at Stobhill Hospital in April.
The 37-year-old sustained a broken nose and two black eyes following the violent incident at the unit, where he is currently receiving psychiatric care, the Record reports.

His dad, Daniel Galbraith, 55, has now slammed the facility, claiming that only one member of staff was supervising the room when the attack took place and that it could have been prevented.
Daniel Snr, from Glasgow, said: "The attack was completely unprovoked. But they were standing there with pool cues in their hands and there was only one person about to look after them. That staff member then left to get help.
"While they were away, my boy was getting his face smashed in. And for how long? I don't know.
"He had to be taken for treatment. He had cuts above his eyes and his nose was broken. He was left with bruising for about ten days after it.
"I was shocked when I saw the state he was in. I've made so many complaints but I feel like I'm being ignored.
"They said they responded immediately, but Daniel sustained injuries. They have failed my son."
Daniel was admitted to Stobhill in 2021 and has since been diagnosed with treatment-resistant psychosis.
Daniel Snr said his mental health is now worse than ever before and that he has been left "like a zombie" since the beating.
He continued: "It's hard to say what the full impact of the attack has been on Daniel. He doesn't make much sense when I ask him questions. He's a bit of a zombie, to be honest.
"You're supposed to go to hospital to get better and he is 100% worse.I don't recognise my own son anymore. He is a shadow of himself.
"He just keeps asking when he is getting out of there. Every time I go to visit, I wonder what is going to happen next. He could be attacked again.
"I don't even know if the other patient is still on the ward. They say they can't tell me because of confidentiality."
Daniel Snr has also complained about other aspects of his son's care on the ward. He claims that earlier this week he found Daniel drinking soapy water from an Irn-bru bottle and witnessed staff not stepping in to stop him.
He also claims he recently found water flooding the floor of Daniel's room due to a broken sink and that his clothes were left in piles on the wet floor as there were no draws or wardrobes for his belongings.
Daniel Snr added: "When I saw that room I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had to take a video just to show my family the hell hole he was living in.
"The place isn't fit for a dog. My son is treated with a lack of dignity. He's been in other wards for short periods of time where he seems to improve but as soon as he goes back into Portree he goes downhill."
An NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde spokesperson said: "For reasons of patient confidentiality, we are unable to comment on specific cases.
"While we understand that this patient’s loved ones are not fully satisfied with the treatment received, our team will continue to be actively engaged with the family to address their concerns."
