Dad shares 'game-changing' condensation hack that tackles damp and mould in homes

With the winter months upon us, condensation can become a bit of a pain in our homes.

As temperatures drop, condensation can build up on windows and walls, leading to problems such as damp and mould. And it means many of us are keen to find ways to prevent the annoying water causing costly damage or even impacting our health.

But TikTok user Willmill19 reckons he has found the perfect solution for those struggling with damp and mould in their properties, insisting that since installing the device in his loft "mould never returned", reports The Echo.

In the social media video, the dad explained he installed a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) in his Victorian property that was previously affected by damp.

He said: "I used to have a dehumidifier and tried all of those little tricks with mould remover. But last winter I installed a PIV unit up in the loft.

"It takes filtered air from the loft and just has a constant blast of filtered air that comes out. That slight bit of filtered air will make the house ever so slightly positive pressure and constantly ventilates our house."

The units can be pretty costly - ranging from £297.99 to £399.99 - but TikTok users claim the product is "well worth the price"

One person wrote: "My partner installed one in my Victorian house three years ago, it's definitely the best £400 I've ever spent."

Another user added: "My partner fitted a PIV in our old stone cottage because our bedroom walls would be dripping in the mornings. GAME CHANGER."
