Dad's holiday blunder has family in stitches as he books tiny 'doll's house' to stay in

A dad who accidentally booked a "doll's house" for his family of four to stay in with their two dogs while on holiday has left his loved ones in stitches with his blunder. JJ Keefe, his wife Erika, and his two adult children, Aidan and Kylie, were travelling to Canton in New York, USA, to drop Aidan off at university, and had decided to spend some time in the area in a holiday rental property while they were there.

The man spotted a cheap house in the Adondiracks, northern New York, which claimed to sleep four people so booked it without giving it a second thought - and only realised his mistake when the family arrived. Instead of it being the large property he had imagined, the family were instead faced with a tiny blue house measuring just 114 square foot downstairs, with a smaller 96 square foot loft.

JJ's daughter Kylie, 25, filmed the family's reaction as they arrived at the property, which saw them all burst out laughing as the realisation sunk in.

She said: "My dad saw that it slept four and the cheap price and booked it with no second thought. We all laughed when we pulled in and saw the size of the home."

Not wanting his family to stay in the cramped rental property, JJ paid for Kylie and her brother to stay in a nearby hotel, while he and his wife made use of the small space he had initially booked.

"My dad and stepmum, Erika Keefe, did stay in the tiny home with the two dogs," Kylie stated, "they said the home was very cramped, but we were all laughing for pretty much our entire trip so it didn't bother them to stay there."

And after the video that Kylie posted on TikTok about the ordeal went viral and garnered over 32 million views, several brands stepped up to get involved and help the family out - including Hilton Hotels, Airbnb, and fast food chain Arby's.

Kylie explained: "When I saw the responses from Arby's, Hilton and Airbnb, I was shocked, but thought it was hilarious."

Her dad's blunder ended up being a blessing in disguise, as the contact from the brands came with perks, and the family received a free $500 (£420) voucher from Airbnb - and a free stay in a Hilton hotel.

She added: "All of the companies were incredibly generous to me and have made this one of the craziest experiences of my life thus far."
