The family of a well loved dad and pharmacist have invited the community to celebrate his life after he died suddenly in his sleep.
Edward John Scarisbrick worked as a pharmacist at Rowland's Pharmacy in Newton-le-Willows since he was in his twenties, and is remembered by many as a "big helper". Edward's wife, Samantha Scarisbrick said: "He was a helper to the whole community, both in Burscough, and where he worked as a community pharmacist in Newton-Le-Willows for 20 years.
"He was a Beaver's helper in the 45th Ormskirk Methodist group, a Governor at Burscough Village Primary School and reading mentor for many years when his children Alice and Jacob were pupils there."

Edward died in his sleep in the early hours of September 27, having spent some time in hospital while struggling with his mental health. Samantha added: "Edward was a regular contributor to the Facebook community forum, having many debates on the local community issues. We as a family are deeply saddened by this sudden loss but are thankful for the many messages of condolence that we have been sent.
"If you would like to pay tribute to our Eddie please donate to the British Heart Foundation or Movember charity for men's mental health."
Following the death of the 46-year-old, people shared touching tributes to the dad-of-two. Carol Smith said: "Edward was always eager to help and was so knowledgeable about medicines. His loss will be felt by many in our local community. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and work colleagues at Rowlands pharmacy."
Andy Bulman said: "Edward was a gentle and warm man. A gentleman too. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace Edward, taken too early."
Ernest George Villiers said: "I will miss the chats we had when he wasn't too busy, I got to see him as a good friend, always very helpful and gave good advice whenever needed. He was such a gentleman R.I.P. Edward."
Edward's funeral will take place on October 18 at at West Lancashire Crematorium.
