Dad arrested 'for murder' after bid to save tragic Adelphi woman 'would do it again'
A man who tried to save a woman crushed by a wardrobe and was initially arrested on suspicion of murder says he doesn't regret stepping in to help.
Chloe Haynes, 21, was found dead in her room at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool city centre by her friend in the early hours of September 10. She had been staying there with a work friend after travelling from Pwllheli, Wales, for a night out.
Her friend and two other hotel guests, who did not know Chloe, were arrested on suspicion of murder by Merseyside Police but were later released with no further action taken. Police are treating the death as "accidental" and said "there were no suspicious circumstances."

Dealer selling from mobility scooter told police 'I'm not pulling over lad'
A dealer selling drugs from his mobility scooter told police "I'm not pulling over lad" while being chased.
Police spoke to Dean Quarton after noticing he smelt strongly of cannabis, but he refused to pull over despite being told to do so. He told officers: “I’m not pulling over lad, no chance.”
But Liverpool Crown Court heard on Tuesday, October 4, that he was brought to a stop and he told them: “It’s only weed, I don’t want to lose my weed.” When he was searched officers found £4,000 cash, a quantity of cannabis in the console of the scooter and a mobile phone, said Rachel Oakdene, prosecuting.

Quarton, 37, claimed his brother had given him the cash but it has since been forfeited without objection at a magistrates’ court hearing. His home in Ellergreen Road, Norris Green, was searched and a small amount of cannabis was found as were plastic bags and digital scales.
When later interviewed about the incident on October 7 last year he denied dealing in drugs and said the cannabis was for his own use. When his mobile phone was analysed there were messages and videos showing he had been dealing in cannabis. Read more here.
Paedophile said he was 'in the wrong' after arranging sex with 'schoolboy'
A paedophile who was bailed after being caught trying to meet a '13-year-old' for sex went on to target what he believed was another child while under investigation.
Andrew McClean, 39, from Southport, was arrested on February 15 after messaging what he believed was a 13-year-old boy and arranging to have sex with him in a public toilet near Southport station.
In fact, he was in contact with an adult member of a local ‘paedophile hunters’ group, who had set up the online profile as a decoy. When McClean attended the railway station with the intention of meeting the boy he was met by members of the group, who called the police.
