A dad and son had their vehicles seized on the same day by police, with one social media user labelling the dad a 'blatant muppet'. The first to be caught by officers was the young man who was riding an electric bike in the Top Valley area on Sunday (June 26), the force said.
He was stopped on Old Farm Road and had his bike taken away. As misfortunes rarely come alone, his dad was also stopped by officers shortly after.
In a post on social media, Nottinghamshire Police reported that the man at the wheel did not have a valid driving licence. His vehicle was seized as a result, the force confirmed.

Nottinghamshire Police's post read: "We've been out and about again today continuing our off road bike operation and you couldn't write this. So, we've stopped an E-bike on Old Farm Road with a young male on it and so it was seized from him.
"As we were leaving the area the male's father has turned up in a vehicle and flagged us down. It turns out he hasn't got a valid driving licence and so we seized his wheels as well."
Social media readers were rather amused by the situation, with Calvin Singleton commenting: "And the award for Blatant muppet June 2022 . Goes to Dad."
Demi Lunney added: "Oh this gave me a right good giggle", while Dawn Mills said "Lol you couldn't write this. When will they learn if you aren't legal don't bother getting one."
