The Los Angeles Lakers’ injury woes of the past couple of years have continued relatively unabated this season, and they don’t seem to be getting any healthier.
LeBron James suffered a right foot tendon injury in last Sunday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. He has been out ever since, and he is expected to be reevaluated in about three weeks. That would mean that, realistically, the earliest he could return would be near the end of this month.
Point guard D’Angelo Russell sprained his ankle last Thursday versus the Golden State Warriors last Thursday and has missed L.A.’s last four games. While there was hope he could return on Sunday when it hosts the Warriors, he will not suit up.

The Lakers will face a huge challenge as a result. Golden State is on a five-game winning streak, and it is expected to get Stephen Curry back after missing the last few weeks with a lower leg injury.
