NEW DELHI: The Late Cyrus Pallonji Mistry's sons Firoz Mistry and Zahan Mistry have joined the Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, according to a report by the Economic Times.
Cyrus's elder brother and SP Group's chairman Shapoor has taken Firoz (26) and Zahan (24) under his wing and will be training them personally, the report said quoting sources.
It also said that the two might be given executive roles after 18 months of training.
Cyrus Mistry was killed in an accident on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on September 4. The car in which Mistry (54) and his friend Jahangir Pandole were travelling hit the railing of Charote bridge on the highway, which led to their death. Gynaecologist Dr Anahita Pandole (55), who was at the wheel, and her husband Darius suffered serious injuries.
The former Tata Sons chairman had joined the SP Group in March 1991 when he was 23-years-old and he oversaw the construction portfolio. Three years later, he was elevated as the MD of SP.
He was appointed to succeed Ratan Tata as the head of the over $100 billion salt-to-software Tata Group. After 4 years at the helm, he was replaced in a boardroom coup in October 2016, which saw Ratan Tata coming back to helm the group before the reigns were passed on to N Chandrasekhar.
This led to a long-drawn legal fued with the Tata Group and Ratan Tata.
