Cremonese sporting director Simone Jacket insists Rangers are holding up a deal for Cyriel Dessers.
The Nigerian international is one of the targets Michael Beale has in mind for the forward areas in his summer Ibrox revamp, with others like Feyenoord's Danilo and Benie Traore of Hacken also on the Ibrox club's radar. It's the striker contracted to the Serie B side, though, who has been linked for the longest.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Rangers are keen to explore the option of a loan move with an option to buy and now the Cremonese transfer leader has had his say on the matter. Confirming negotiations are ongoing between the parties, nothing is happening at the minute as they are waiting for Rangers to make their next move, having already had one bid thrown out for Dessers earlier in June.
Jacket told SportItalia: "There is a negotiation with Rangers underway. But at the moment everything is still because we are waiting for them to formulate the new proposal."
