Cyriel Dessers Rangers move close as medical is 'booked'

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Cyriel Dessers.

The striker has reportedly been booked in for a medical at the club at the beginning of this week.

And should that all go to plan, the 28-year-old will sign a four-year deal at Ibrox.

The Nigeria international has agreed to swap Cremonese in Italy for Glasgow this summer.

Rangers will pay just over £4million for the frontman, as Michael Beale bolsters his attacking options.

Belgian football journalist Sven Claes tweeted: "Cryiel Dessers will leave Cremonese and sign a four-year contract at Glasgow Rangers.

"Medicals booked today and tomorrow. Fee: €5m."

The former Genk man will become the sixth summer signing. He will join Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Dujon Sterling, and Abdallah Sima on the books.

Other transfers are being worked on too, with long-term target Jose Cifuentes and Danilo very much still on the radar.

Meanwhile, Rangers remain firmly in line to pocket a transfer windfall from Malik Tillman's movements this summer.

And according to reports, the Ibrox club could see a cash boost in relation to the American's future in the coming weeks.

Bayern Munich are hoping to sell Tillman for at least £10million this transfer window - which is double the amount they had agreed with Rangers last summer as part of his season-long loan deal.

The Scottish Sun states that the German giants aim to do this by flogging the 21-year-old straight to the Premier League.
