Cyriel Dessers has made it clear he has no intention of walking away from Rangers this summer – declaring he’s “very keen” to stay and win more trophies at Ibrox.
The Nigerian striker, who joined from Cremonese in the summer of 2023, has been the subject of speculation amid what is expected to be a major summer of change at Rangers, with new owners likely to come in and shake up the playing squad.
But Dessers, under contract until 2027, is adamant he wants to be part of the club’s next chapter.
Despite facing criticism at times this season and not always being first choice, the 30-year-old has delivered on the pitch – scoring 23 goals and providing six assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Addressing his future ahead of Rangers' trip to face St Mirren on Saturday, a day rivals Celtic can wrap up their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, Dessers said: "I'm very keen. I came here two summers ago with the ambition to fight for trophies, to win trophies. Now I'm sitting here, we had two amazing runs in Europe, but we only won a trophy, and I don't think that's enough.
"I'm really hungry to win more trophies, more silver at this club. So, for me, I'm very keen. But obviously, like I say, there's going to be a lot happening, but I'm looking forward to that as well."
Dessers' only winners medal as a Rangers player came in December 2023 when James Tavernier's goal sealed a 1-0 win over Aberdeen to lift the Scottish League Cup.
