Neil Lennon has revealed Cyriel Dessers 'came up' on his radar at Celtic and reckons he could be a 'great bit of business' for Rangers.
Michael Beale moved to land the hitman from Cremonese as he played the long game to get his top No9 target in the door at Ibrox. He checked-in as the sixth summer arrival at the club with Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Abdallah Sima and Sam Lammers all putting pen to paper before their new team-mate.
The Light Blues are believed to have shelled out in the region of £4.5million to land the striker with former Parkhead gaffer reckoning it's 'decent business'. He has described his key traits as being physical, quick and strong with a goal in his game. Had things worked out differently he could have been playing on the other side of Glasgow as Lennon opened up on how he watched the latest Ibrox recruit.

Speaking on Go Radio, he said: “I watched him when he was at Heracles and he was the leading goalscorer in the Dutch league that season. He’s a big, powerful player with a little bit of technique sometimes, with the soft feet.
“But he’s a goalscorer and I think at £4.5million he could be a great bit of business for Rangers. They needed a striker and they’ve got one in the building now.
“He was one of the players that came up. You’ve many, many options in that position and Cyriel was one of them. He went on to Cremonese for a while.
“But his goal record is good and he's a physical type. Quick, strong as has a goal in him. For £4.5million, that’s decent business.”
