A man is still fighting for his life days after being thrown from his bike in Hoylake.
Police and paramedics were called to Meols Drive, close to Royal Liverpool Golf Club, after reports of a crash at around 3.45pm on Sunday, August 14. At the scene they found a cyclist had been involved in a crash with a Renault Cleo.
The driver of the car remained at the scene to help with enquiries. The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Merseyside police confirmed this morning the man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out.
Roads Policing Sergeant Amy Murray said: "We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances behind this collision, which has left a man in a critical condition. His family are being supported by specialist officers and our thoughts go out to them at such a difficult time.
"As a matter of priority, we’d like to speak to anyone who was passing the golf club at around 3.45pm on Sunday afternoon, and has any images or footage from dashcam or other devices which may assist.
