A male cyclist has been rushed to an Edinburgh hospital after falling off her bike on a busy road due to slippery black ice.
The incident took place around 8am on Myreside Road in the Colinton area of the capital and officers raced to the scene.
Following the nasty fall, the cyclist was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Temperatures have dropped this week with frosty air hitting this morning.
Drivers and road users have been urged to extra take care when travelling.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Monday, 21 November 2022, around 8 am, officers received a report of a cyclist that had slipped and fallen on Myreside Road, Edinburgh."
They added: "The male cyclist was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.”
