Customers to face huge change if they use Tesco Clubcard from today

Tesco shoppers will notice a huge change if they try and use their Clubcard today.

The Clubcard app that lets you scan a digital version of your Clubcard will no longer be available to use. It comes after the supermarket giant scrapped the Pay+ app on February 28.

The Pay+ app allowed Tesco shopper to store their payment card and Clubcard details in one single barcode which helped speed up the payment process. However, customers are now being urged to download the revamped Clubcard & Grocery app in order to not miss out on points, the Mirror reports.

The new app allows customers to collect Clubcard points while giving the option to view their balance, spend any vouchers, order a grocery delivery, and check local store stocks. The app is currently available on both Android and iPhone.

However, if customers are not comfortable with using the app, they can still use their physical Clubcards in stores as normal. A spokesperson for Tesco said: "Bringing the functionality of Tesco Pay+ into the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app is a demonstration of our focus on providing products which closely align to the needs of Tesco shoppers."

When shoppers collect Clubcard points, they can be converted into Tesco vouchers to use in the supermarket, with each point worth 1p in-store. This results in 150 points being worth £1.50 to spend in stores.
