Curtain Call 2: Eminem is going to release a second greatest hits album

Eminem will be releasing a new greatest hits album, Curtain Call 2, and fans don’t have long to wait.

The rapper announced the news on social media, revealing that he will drop the new record on August 5.

The compilation album is set to include From the D 2 the LBC – his new song with Snoop Dogg, plus another yet-to-be-revealed track.

The rapper shared the news online by posting the upcoming album cover. It shows an illustrated version of Eminem making the sign of the horns above his head with his hand, and in doing so, covering one eye.

Accompanying the album cover are the hashtags #Relapse #Recovery #MMLP2 #Revival #Kamikaze #MTBMB #MTBMBSIDEB, seeming to indicate that Curtain Call 2 will include tracks from those albums.

So, it’s likely that fans can look forward to a selection of songs from 2009’s Relapse, 2010’s Recovery, 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2, 2017’s Revival, 2018’s Kamikaze, and 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By and Music to Be Murdered By - Side B.

Eminem released the new track From the D 2 the LBC with Snoop Dogg only a fortnight ago. The single was dropped alongside a new music video and saw the duo well and truly bury their old feud.

Two years earlier the rappers had argued over comments made by Snoop Dogg on the hip hop radio show The Breakfast Club – though the beef was quickly put to bed.

In the music video for From the D 2 the LBC Eminem said: “It’s been a minute. This probably should have happened a while ago. F**k it. We’re here now though.”

The rapper is having a busy year: he was inducted Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in May, and the same month popped up on one of Pete Davidson’s last SNL sketches.

He performed at the Superbowl in February – sharing a stage with Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige. He also collaborated with CeeLo Green on a new June-released track called The King and I which was made for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis soundtrack.

The 49-year-old rapper’s first greatest hits album – titled Curtain Call: The Hits – was released in December 2005. Upon release, the album went straight to number one in the UK and on the US Billboard 200.

As well as compiling Eminem’s best-known songs, the album also comprised four new tracks, including Shake That featuring Nate Dogg and a live version of Stan featuring Elton John. The album was certified diamond in the US, meaning it sold more than 10 million units.
