Cumnock cocaine dealer, 20, busted with £4,000 worth of Class A drug

A 20-year-old East Ayrshire man was found with almost £4,000 worth of cocaine.

Keiren Murray was busted on March 17 last year when police attended his then home at Lanehead Terrace, New Cumnock, with a search warrant.

Murray, now of Drumbrochan Road in Cumnock, was found within the living room while his partner was in the bath.

After officers explained they were there to search the premises, he told them: “I’ll just say one thing, anything in here is mine.”

Officers found two bags of white powder in the kitchen weighing 6.34g and was said to have a street value of £200.

Behind the microwave, officers found self-sealed bags containing 25.96g of cocaine, said to be worth £2,000 if sub-divided into smaller amounts.

A further 41g of the Class A drug was recovered in knotted bags and said to have a street value of £1,000 or £1,640 if sub-divided and sold on.

The kitchen wall unit also contained 1.23g of cocaine and scales and self-sealed bags were also found within the kitchen.

The total street value of the drugs recovered was said to be worth £3,980 with a minimum value of £2,460.

Murray admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Sentencing was deferred for the court to obtain social work reports and a restriction of liberty assessment.

Murray will reappear in the dock in April.
