Culinary delights await as Dundee’s Daisy Tasker launches new menu

Named after a young mill worker, Dundee’s Daisy Tasker restaurant has been a delight for local diners.

Seen as one of the city’s top eateries it continues to impress with its diverse offerings since it opened in 2018.

And not one to sit on its laurels, bosses have just announced some tasty new additions to its menus.

The restaurant is located at Hotel Indigo and is housed in a former textile mill with a very stylish modern makeover.

The huge space is dominated by large funky lampshades, intimate booths and a cocktail, malt whisky and wine list to die for.

The restaurant’s website sums up their approach and outlines the influence of the sassy mill worker.

It says: “Daisy was much loved for organising social activities for her fellow weavers.

“We raise a toast in celebration of Scotland’s cuisine, community, and heritage.

“Our menus are created by talented young chefs, and feature Scotland’s best ingredients.

“For socialites and romantics alike, our bar serves up stunning drinks and memorable moments.”

The restaurant is probably best known for its stunning fillet and sirloin steaks, burgers and 71 brewing battered haddock.

All the steaks are 28 days dry-aged and sourced locally. They are served with chunky chips, flat cap mushroom and cherry vine tomatoes.

Its burgers are made to their own recipe, served in a brioche bun, homemade onion rings, gem lettuce, tomato, house ketchup and salad garnish.

And these solid staples have now been backed up by some stunning new dishes that include:

- Hot smoked salmon, keta caviar, avocado & wasabi.

- Asparagus, broad beans, feta, hens egg & spiced granola.

- Lamb loin & confit belly, smoked potato puree, tender stem & sauce reform.

Daisy Tasker Head Chef Stewart 'Macca' Macaulay told Dundee Live that he couldn’t wait to welcome customers this summer.

He added: “At Daisy Tasker we’ve always believed in the something for all approach when designing our dishes.

“And that is true of our new menu but it also includes a continued celebration of very best seasonal Scottish produce.”
