Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya’s hilarious pitch-framing attempt had the internet in stitches.
In the fifth inning of the Cubs’ matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks skipped a breaking ball in the dirt to Christian Yelich. But Amaya gloved the pitch smoothly and in one sweeping motion brought the ball up into the strike zone, briefly trying to trick home plate umpire D.J. Reyburn into calling the pitch a strike.
Unfortunately for the Cubs, Reyburn wasn’t fooled, calling the pitch a ball. Hendricks would eventually strike out Yelich anyways, so all’s well that ends well.

Whatever it takes, right? Especially with the Cubs fighting for their postseason lives, three games back of Milwaukee in the NL Central and two games out of the last NL Wild Card.
