Cubo planning second Nottingham site after original workspace attracts 41 firms

More than 40 firms have moved into a Nottingham city centre workspace within its first two years.

Flexible office provider Cubo acquired Fenchurch House, in King Street, at the end of 2019, reopening it as a workspace a year later, during Covid-19.

The company, founded by property developers Marc and Rebecca Brough, said the 20,000 sq ft building stayed open for keyworkers and NHS organisations throughout the various lockdowns.

Since then, Cubo Nottingham has welcomed 41 businesses, with more than 360 workers using it from a range of sectors.

Management said the workspace was currently operating at 95 per cent capacity, with plans to open a second site in Nottingham soon.

Cubo was launched in 2020 and operates flexible office spaces – from hot desking to designated desks, private offices, or entire floor – in Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, and Birmingham.

The company’s aim is to be in all major cities by 2025 and to take the brand abroad.

Businesses that use Cubo Nottingham include digital marketing agency Adtrak, next-gen technology services provider Endava and recruitment professionals G2 Recruitment.

The Nottingham premises has six floors of working space and meeting rooms, along with communal spaces, private areas, chill-out areas, kitchens, and a barista service with beer on tap. There are also networking events for members, who are also supported by a front of house team.

Chief executive Marc Brough said: “Over the last two years, Cubo Nottingham has exceeded all our expectations and we’ve welcomed a diverse range of businesses who are looking for a new and modern way of working.

“We opened Cubo Nottingham at a time of great uncertainty, but our unbeatable location, amenities and high-quality space means we have gone from strength to strength.

“We look forward to welcoming more local, regional and national operators to Cubo over the coming year.”
