Crystal Palace XI vs Brentford: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Crystal Palace are again without Michael Olise for today’s Premier League clash with Brentford.

The Frenchman signed a new contract earlier this summer but is yet to feature this season.

Olise suffered a bad tear in his hamstring while competing for France in the European Under-21 Championships in June.

Roy Hodgson is also without Will Hughes and Matheus Franca, as he has been since the start of the campaign.

“Will was the recipient of a really bad tackle when we played Millonarios in Chicago, and that, again, is an injury which is going to take more time than we’ve been able to give him so far”, Hodgson said earlier in August.

Brazilian striker Franca, 21, signed from Flamengo in his native for a fee of around £26million including add-ons earlier this month. But he is yet to be fit enough to feature for Palace or even train with his new teammates.

Speaking last week, Hodgson said: “The young Brazilian boy, Matheus, is still in rehabilitation. We don’t quite know when he will be there for us.”

Starting Crystal Palace XI: Johnstone; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Lerma, Doucoure, Eze; Ayew, Edouard, Schlupp

Subs: Matthews, Tomkins, Richards, Riedewald, Clyne, Ahamda, Gordon, Rak-Sayki, Mateta

Doubts: None

Time and date: 3pm BST on Saturday, August 26, 2023

Venue: Gtech Community Stadium
