Crystal Palace share unwanted major trophy record with Premier League rivals Brighton and Fulham

Crystal Palace are one of five current Premier League clubs to have not won a major trophy.

The 2016 FA Cup against Manchester United was the closest the Eagles have come recently to winning silverware, eventually losing 2-1 to Jesse Lingard goal in extra-time.

They also reached the final of football's oldest cup competition in 1990, again losing to United in a replay after drawing 3-3 initially.

Because of this, Palace unfortunately join newly promoted Fulham and Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion as team's in England's top-flight not to win a major trophy.

Palace last won a trophy when they lifted the the now Championship, winning the division in 1994 - 28 years and 164 days ago.

In terms of teams who have gone the longest wait since their last trophy, Newcastle United have not not won a major trophy since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969, 53 years and 136 days ago according to data provided by Reach.

Palace's London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last won a major trophy back in 2008, lifting the League Cup, and have been made to wait the longest out of the so-called 'big six' sides to earn major success.

Man City have gone the least amount of time since last winning a trophy, given they were crowned Premier League champions only 141 days ago.

For all their success under Sir Alex Ferguson, United have struggled since his retirement and have not won a trophy in five years, when they beat Southampton in the League Cup final and then went on to win the UEFA Europa League.

While Arsenal's FA Cup win in 2020 has seen them go two years since their last trophy, Chelsea's wait is even shorter having won the UEFA Champions League in 2021.
