Crystal Palace shake-up continues with chief operating officer Sharon Lacey set to leave

Sharon Lacey, Crystal Palace’s chief operating officer, is set to leave the club.

The news comes little more than a week after it was revealed that sporting director Dougie Freedman is leaving the club after eight years in the role.

Lacey’s departure is a further shake-up within Palace’s senior management team.

Standard Sport understands she is set to take on a position on the board of a club in the United States, with her employment at Palace to come to an end in the next few weeks.

Lacey was previously Palace’s head of marketing and head of customer service. She has been at Palace for 14 years.

In her current role, Lacey has overseen matchday staffing and the day-to-day operational requirements of running Selhurst Park.

Earlier this month, Palace’s head of marketing, Aaron Duckmanton, left the club after just seven months to take on the same role at Everton.

Duckmanton had previously led on marketing and digital content for Leeds United between 2021 and 2024.

In a club interview in August 2019, Lacey said: “I’ve been to loads of different games now, from Championship to Premier League, but at Palace there’s this strange forgiving nature for everything that happens. They’ve got the best banter, the fans, and so I suppose I’m a Crystal Palace fan and it’s where my heart is. I love the club.

“I’m really proud of the club that we are and the club that we’re so close to being.”
