Crystal Palace's Luka Milivojevic makes honest league table assessment after Leicester draw

Crystal Palace captain Luka Milivojevic says Crystal Palace do not deserve to be where they are in the Premier League following their 0-0 draw against Leicester City on Saturday.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock and ended up sharing the points, giving Palace their second clean sheet of the 2022/23 top-flight campaign.

A win would have seen Patrick Vieira's side move up to 12th in the table depending on other results but potential movement in the league will have to wait until midweek when Palace take on Wolves.

Though there were positives to take from Saturday's stalemate, Milivojevic believes that both the Eagles and the Foxes should be higher up the table than their respective positions of 13th and 19th respectively at the time of writing.

Part of the reason Palace are in the bottom half is the tough opening schedule, having already played three of last year's top four in champions Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea as well as Arsenal who lead the league after eight games. And the Serbian said he knew it would be a tough fixture given how "good" Leicester can be.

“It was a tough game for both teams,” he told the club's official statement. “At the minute I think both teams in the table are not where they deserve to be. We had tough schedules from the beginning of the season and now this game today we can take positives from this as well. A clean sheet, away from home, Leicester is a good team. Then we turn to the next one.

“We knew that they were under pressure and we know they didn’t have a good start to the season, but we know that today we are going to face a good team who is fighting for their lives. It was a must-win game for them. We knew they are a quality team and it would be tough for us, but in the end we kept a clean sheet which is positive.”

Palace return to Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening when they host Wolves in the league.
