Crystal Palace have reportedly put in a £27million bid to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park and became a fan favourite. Palace boss Patrick Vieira made it no secret he would like Gallagher return to the club, but the midfielder remains at Stamford Bridge with just three days remaining in the summer transfer window.
Gallagher has played in all four Premier League games for Chelsea so far with two starts. But the midfielder has had a difficult start to the season. His only start for the club ended in a 3-0 defeat at Leeds United, with Gallagher being substituted after an hour, and the former Palace loanee was sent off after 28 minutes during the 2-1 win against Leicester City.

But Palace remain hopeful that the club’s player of the season last term will return to Selhurst Park. According to The Times, the Eagles have submitted a £27million offer to Chelsea.
But reports elsewhere suggest Gallagher could be heading in another direction. With Chelsea keen to land Everton youngster Anthony Gordon, Football Insider suggests the Blues will offer Gallagher, Armando Broja and £25million to sign the 21-year-old.
Everton, along with Palace, are said to be interested in signing Gallagher, with fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle United also reportedly keen. Last season, Gallagher recorded eight goals and five assists in 39 appearances for Palace in all competitions.
