Crystal Palace hatch secret plan to avoid Everton fireworks threat

Crystal Palace will spend the night before their trip to Everton in a secret location in a bid to avoid the prospect of being disturbed by fireworks let off by supporters, according to reports.

The Blues will face Patrick Vieira's side at Goodison Park on Thursday evening with the Merseyside club desperate to secure the three points that will ensure their Premier League safety. Prior to Everton's last two home games, opponents Chelsea and Brentford were subjected to a sustained firework display in the middle of the night, immediately next to the hotels where the teams were staying.

And according to the Mail, with Frank Lampard's side fighting for their top flight existence, Palace are not prepared to take any chances with their pre-match preparations. The report claims that on Monday, Palace chiefs have been hastily changing their arrangements to stay in an unnamed hotel outside of Merseyside on Wednesday evening before travelling into the county for the match the next day.

Everton's Premier League status remains in serious peril after Sunday's disappointing 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Brentford. A win against the Bees would have declared the Toffees safe from relegation, but instead they must seek a positive result against Palace or Arsenal on the final day of the season to avoid relying on other teams to keep them in the first tier of English football.

The Blues currently lie 16th in the table with two games left to fulfil, two points above Burnley and a point ahead of Leeds United, who only have one match left to play.
