Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards has made it into Harry Redknapp’s team of the week after displays against Manchester United and Newcastle United.
The American centre-back was brought into the starting line-up in the 1-1 draw against Man United at Selhurst Park in midweek, with Joachim Andersen out injured.
Richards performed well alongside Marc Guehi and put in another solid performance against Newcastle at the weekend, with Palace keeping a clean sheet in a goalless draw with the Magpies.

Eagles boss Patrick Vieira was full of praise for the US international, who has been limited to just six Premier League appearances this season due to a leg injury that ruled him out for two months.
Redknapp believes Palace have a “very good player” within their ranks after naming Richards in his team of the week. The former West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Portsmouth boss told BetVictor: “He signed for Palace last summer and it’s taken him a while to get in this side, but he’s been playing very well recently
“He was brilliant against Man United during the week and had another great game against Newcastle. He made blocks, put tackles in, he looks like a very good player.”
Richards was named in a backline that includes Manchester City full-back Rico Lewis, Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, and Max Wober of Leeds United, with Newcastle United’s Nick Pope in goal. Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz and Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma were named in midfield.
Redknapp picked Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as his “star man” of the week after scoring a brace in the Gunners' 3-2 win against Manchester United. Marcus Rashford was also in the XI, alongside Man City’s hat-trick hero Erling Haaland and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
