Crystal Palace will host Brazil’s top tier, Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas in a December friendly, it has been confirmed.
The Eagles have confirmed that they will welcome the Brazilian side to south London on Saturday, December 3 for a 12.30pm kick off, with the Premier League having a winter break while the World Cup takes place in Qatar.
This match will be the first time that Crystal Palace have played a top-tier Brazilian side, with Botafogo currently sitting tenth in the table, having won the Serie B in 2021 to secure promotion back to the top flight.

Botafogo have won the Serie A in 1968 and 1995 and hold notable Brazilian records such as having the country’s longest unbeaten run, which is 52 games between the 1977-78 season.
In Botafogo’s squad they have several former Premier League players, including ex-Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva and former Lyon and Wolves defender Fernando Marcal, while they also have former Palace players in their ranks in Lucas Perri and Jacob Montes.
In the past, Botafogo have had several Brazilian World Cup icons in their squad, including Garrincha, Didi, Jairzinho and Bebeto.
Crystal Palace, who currently sit tenth in the Premier League table and are unbeaten in their last three home games, have said tickets for the game at Selhurst Park will go on general sale soon, with Botafogo fans set to have their own designated seating area.
