Crystal Palace confident of new Eberechi Eze contract after breakthrough in talks

Eberechi Eze is set to sign a new long-term contract at Crystal Palace.

Manchester City failed with a £60m bid during the summer transfer window, prompting Palace to open talks with the winger over a fresh deal worth in excess of £100k-per-week. Newcastle had also considered a move for the former QPR youngster before they signed Sandro Tonali.

Negotiations were at advanced stage last month and there is now a confidence at Selhurst Park the England international will commit his long-term future to the club.

Eze’s current deal expires in 2025 and a release clause was on the table during discussions with the Eagles. The 25-year-old returned from a hamstring injury for his side's win over Burnley on Saturday.

Palace have moved to secure the future of their biggest assets, having tied Michael Olise down to a new four-year contract despite interest from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

They are eager to begin talks with club captain Marc Guehi too amid interest from Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool.
