Crystal Hefner alleges mistreatment of animals at Playboy Mansion

Crystal Hefner claims animals in Playboy Mansion were mistreated and malnourished.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Crystal Hefner, former wife of Hugh Hefner, has made disturbing claims about the treatment of animals that resided in the iconic Playboy Mansion. According to Crystal, the animals were mistreated and malnourished, leading to their overall depressed and sad appearance.

Crystal recalls walking by the animal cages in the mansion and being struck by the lack of happiness displayed by the creatures. She particularly mentions the plight of the little birds, stating that they seemed to be dying of thirst. These revelations are part of her new memoir, 'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,' where she sheds light on her experiences living in the mansion and her relationship with Hugh Hefner.

Crystal's relationship with the Playboy magazine editor-in-chief began in 2008, when she caught his eye at a Halloween party. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and remained married until Hugh Hefner's passing in 2017 at the age of 91. Crystal has since reverted back to her maiden name, Harris.

During her interview, Crystal also talks about her mixed feelings towards the Playboy Mansion itself. Despite its beauty as an English Tudor home on a five-acre property in the heart of Los Angeles, Crystal reveals that over time, she witnessed a decline in its upkeep. The mansion became rundown and infested with mold, leaving her with an overall feeling of disgust.

Furthermore, Crystal shares the challenges she faced living alongside Hugh Hefner's other girlfriends. She reveals that she had a strict curfew of 6:00 p.m., with the pantry staff relentlessly calling her at 6:01 p.m. to ensure she adhered to the rules. Crystal explains that she would rush in to find Hugh Hefner and give him a kiss on the cheek, indicating that she was home and had followed the mandated guidelines.

Interestingly, Crystal admits that she was never in love with Hugh Hefner and implies that she paid a price for her life in the mansion. While it appeared to be a world of success and fantasy, she points out that the women were essentially required to be intimate with an 80-year-old man. She asserts that such a situation comes at a cost.

Crystal's revelations provide a glimpse behind the glamour of the Playboy Mansion and expose the mistreatment of animals within its walls. Her memoir serves as a platform for her to discuss her experiences and share her perspective on living in such an extraordinary but controversial environment.
