Crusaders come to 'mutual agreement' with forward Dean Ebbe

Crusaders have confirmed the departure of forward Dean Ebbe.

The 28-year-old reached a "mutual agreement" with the club to bring an end to his year-long spell at Seaview.

Ebbe joined the Crues in July last year after a spell in Wales with Bala Town and The New Saints and went on to score four goals in 31 appearances, finishing the campaign with an Irish Cup winner's medal.

The Shore Road club said on social media: "Crusaders can confirm that Dean Ebbe and the club have came to a mutual agreement to allow Dean to move on and find a new club.

"Dean made 31 appearances scoring 4 goals and leaves with an Irish Cup Winners medal. We wish Dean and his family all the best."

Ebbe struggled to find consistency last season, but Crues boss Stephen Baxter admitted in April that he believed the striker was finally starting to adapt to life in the Irish League.

Baxter said at the time: “There is a footballer in there. Dean’s got great ability — touch, quality and spin. He’s scored goals in the previous Leagues he’s played in.

“Yes, he has just taken time to settle into this League. We are waiting for him to set fire. There is a talent in there just waiting to explode, I’m certain about that."
