Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter has been hit with a six match touchline ban following his red card in a recent 2-1 defeat to Glentoran at Seaview.
Baxter, who was sent off near the end of the league fixture, served an immediate two game ban after being charged with the offence of ‘using offensive, insulting or abusive language and or hand gestures’.
And a further four match ban has also been imposed on the 56-year-old for a breach of Article 18.15, reportedly for his subsequent interactions with referee Jamie Robinson.
Article 18.15 states that a “player or official who is reported for unsporting conduct towards a match official” will incur a four match suspension and £100 fine for their club.
It is understood Crusaders intend to appeal the IFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision.
Baxter, who marks 17 years in charge of the North Belfast club next month, was red carded in the 85th minute of a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Glentoran on January 21.
The Shore Road men were angered by a first-half penalty decision that went against them and Jude Winchester’s straight red card 10 minutes after the half-time break.
Meanwhile, Glentoran have been fined £500 for a breach of Article 33 - relating to spectator conduct - following the Oval club’s trip to Solitude on Monday, January 17.
