Cruise ship Jewel of the Seas arrives in Liverpool

Cruise ship Jewel of the Seas has arrived in Liverpool.

The ship, which boasts 1,907 cabins and eight restaurants across 13 decks, has berthed at Liverpool Cruise Terminal today, on Wednesday, June 14. The cruise liner, operated by Royal Caribbean, is currently nine days into a 12 day, round-trip Iceland and Ireland cruise.

Jewel of the Seas set off from Amsterdam on June 5, before heading to Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Seydisfordur, Belfast, Liverpool and Cork before arriving back in Amsterdam on June 17.

The cruise calendar for Jewel of the Seas is available for up to 2025 and includes varied trips to the Southern Caribbean, Arctic Circle, Spain and Portugal. Currently, prices online start from £1,300 per person, with deals available for families.

Jewel of the Seas made her debut in spring 2004. Measuring 90,090 tons and carrying a maximum of 2,700-plus passengers, it was the fourth and final limb on Royal Caribbean's Radiance-class family tree.

It has joined a long list of other ships that have docked in Liverpool over the last weeks, including The Regal Princess, The Britannia and Costa Favolosa. While in May, Liverpool was surprised with a visit from The Queen Mary 2.

The cruise liner departed from Southampton on May 2 and arrived in Liverpool on May 3. The special Coronation celebration voyage was announced at the last minute, with people being able to bag five nights on the vessel from £499 per person.
