It's the return of the (Chicken Big) Mac on Wednesday at McDonald's as the popular burger hits menus once more for a limited time. It was a big hit when it was launched last year and if the queues for a special taster event on Tuesday are anything to go by, 2023 will be no different.
Crowds of Chicken Big Mac fans queued outside of a McDonald’s restaurant in Chelmsford, which opened its doors a day early to allow customers to get their hands on it. People flocked to the restaurant, with fans eagerly waiting to be one of the first to get their hands on it before it officially goes on sale tomorrow.
Chicken Big Mac is a twist on the classic and much-loved Big Mac, with its recognisable triple-layered bun plus two 100% chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, and the world-famous Big Mac sauce. But there's more.
On Tuesday McDonald's said that a breakfast legend would also be back in restaurants on Wednesday. The Mighty McMuffin will return, having first appeared on the menu for Christmas 2022.
It will be around for three months from Wednesday. A McMuffin for the hungry, it is filled with sausage, egg, bacon, cheese, and ketchup or brown sauce. Also joining the menu on Wednesday is the new Steakhouse Stack - a premium new beef burger, developed to evoke flavours of steak with peppercorn sauce. It features two 100% beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce, all in a freshly toasted bun.
Fan favourites Mozzarella Dippers and Cadbury Crème Egg/Cadbury Caramel Egg McFlurry will also be returning. Also launching on Wednesday is a month-long promotion called Winning Sips. Customers will get the chance to make the most of their sips and slurps by winning prizes including £10,000 cash, menu favourites and limited-edition merch including bucket hats, towels and Coca-Cola glasses when purchasing a medium or large soft drink.
