A pair of thugs stole cash from a cash machine in a violent robbery in Heald Green on Tuesday morning. One of the men was wielding a crowbar when they got out of a grey Toyota Excel before then attacking an employee from a cash in transit firm.
Police were called to the incident, which happened at 11.40am on Tuesday (March 29) on Wilmslow Road, Heald Green. Officers attended the scene and established that two males had attacked the employee, leaving them needing hospital treatment, before then making off with around £40,000 in cash from an ATM inside.
The offenders were later seen fleeing the scene in the grey Toyota which was later recovered on Crantock Drive, Heald Green. Anyone with information is being urged to contact police 'urgently'.

Greater Manchester Police said: "At 11.40am yesterday (29 March 2022), police were called to a report of a robbery at the Post Office on Wilmslow Road, Heald Green. Officers attended the scene and initial enquiries have established that two unknown males, one brandishing a crow bar, had gotten out of a grey Toyota Excel before the victim, an employee for a secure cash in transit firm, was attacked by the offenders.
"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
"The offenders were seen fleeing the scene in the grey Toyota which was later recovered on Crantock Drive, Heald Green. Anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police as a matter of urgency."
