Cristiano Ronaldo vs Harry Maguire: Man Utd captain watch highlights different qualities

Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire are locked in a battle for the Manchester United captaincy and they showcased their differing leadership qualities in this clash with bitter rivals Leeds.

Maguire led from the front and headed United ahead with what was only his first Premier League goal in 36 appearances.

Ronaldo was in referee Paul Tierney’s ear for much of the match and was booked for complaining too much when he did not five a foul on Bruno Fernandes in the build-up to Leeds’ second goal.

He was overly protective of his compatriot, perhaps in a sign of the tensions between the Portuguese-speaking players and Maguire and the rest.
