Cristiano Ronaldo transfer hint dropped as PSG leapfrog Chelsea for 'next Neymar'

Your Chelsea transfer round-up on Wednesday, November, 23.

Ferdinand drops huge Cristiano Ronaldo transfer hint

Chelsea have been one club strongly linked with signing Cristiano Ronaldo and that's set to continue after his confirmed exit at Manchester United.

It's likely that rumours will continue to grow linking Ronaldo with a move to Stamford Bridge, while a return to Real Madrid has also been reported. Where he goes next is unknown to the public, but former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes work behind the scenes will already be underway.

"I think both parties will be delighted now," Ferdinand told BBC Sport. "He has obviously done that with the mindset that he wanted to get out of the football club and wasn't happy.

"He made that very clear. I also think that Ten Hag has got what he wanted in this situation. Both parties are happy. Move on and it's the next chapter for Ronaldo."

Asked what he thinks Ronaldo's next chapter is, Ferdinand added: "I think it depends what his motivation is, is it Champions League? Is it money? Is it just to continue playing somewhere with a nice climate? This will be planned out and will be going on behind the scenes."

PSG advantage in Endrick saga

Paris Saint-Germain look to have leapfrogged Chelsea in the race to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick. The 16-year-old has been heavily linked with a number of Europe's top sides lately as he continues to exceed expectations.

According to Brazilian outlet ge, the Parisians have been in talks with Palmeiras regarding the possibility of signing both Endrick and teammate Estevao. It's said that €80million (£69.3million) for the duo was initially discussed; €50million (£43.3million) up front and €30million (£26million) in bonuses.

However, the report outlines that people from inside the Brazilian side say there has been no official approach so far but Palmeiras want Endrick and Estevao, who both came through the club's academy, valued.

According to the Evening Standard, Endrick has had 'several' meetings with Chelsea over a potential move to Stamford Bridge. It's said that the striker's father, Douglas, is heavily involved in deciding his son's future and he's said to be working with the agents of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

Chelsea monitoring Rashford

Chelsea are monitoring Marcus Rashford's situation at Manchester United, according to reports. The 25-year-old was thinly-linked with an exit from Old Trafford earlier in the year but a move failed to materialise.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues first considered welcoming Rashford to Stamford Bridge in the summer after he was recommended by former boss Thomas Tuchel. And, following the England international's impressive cameo off the bench in the World Cup against Iran, Todd Boehly is believed to still be monitoring the forward.

Rashford sees his contract with the Red Devils expire at the end of the season but United have the option to extend his tenure by a further year. However, while Erik ten Hag will likely be keen to retain his services, Phillips adds that the Englishman has grown unsettled at the club due to Ronaldo.
