Here are your Manchester United morning headlines on Monday, June 6.

Portugal boss gives verdict as Ronaldo makes decision on United future

Portugal boss Fernando Santos has backed Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to stay at United next season.

The 37-year-old has seemingly indicated he will be staying at Old Trafford for another 12 months. There had been some doubt over whether the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would see out the final year of his contract, having signed a two-year deal upon his return to United last summer.

Despite United enduring a dismal season on all fronts, De Gea was one of a select few to come out of the campaign with any credit. The 31-year-old enjoyed a fine season in goal, leading to him winning the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award.
