Gary Neville believes Cristiano Ronaldo has told the Old Trafford faithful that he will be staying at Manchester United this season.
The club’s top scorer slammed home his 24th goal of the season from the spot to put his side 2-0 up against Brentford just after the hour mark. Just before performing his famous ‘Siu’ celebration at the corner flag, Ronaldo looked towards the fans, pointed to himself then to the pitch.
Reports have suggested the 37-year-old could leave his two-year United deal early upon the arrival of new manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s Champions League qualification failure. However, Neville believes Ronaldo has now put those fears to bed with a pointed goal celebration.

Speaking during commentary on Sky Sports, he said: "I think he's telling everybody that he's going to be here next year.
“He's that important, it wouldn't surprise me if he's demanded to know if he's in the manager's plans. He simply has to be in this form."
Ronaldo has scored in three consecutive Premier League outings for the first time this season. He was named United’s April player of the month after five goals in three games.
It saw him become the fourth player to score 100 goals and more in two of Europe’s top five leagues behind Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gonzalo Higuain. He now has five goals in his last three matches.
