Cristiano Ronaldo sends subtle Arsenal dig amid scathing verdict on Glazers' Man Utd ownership

Cristiano Ronaldo has aimed a subtle dig at Arsenal in the latest instalment of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The 37-year-old has hit out at Manchester United owners, the Glazers family, claiming that the Americans "don't care about the club".

As part of the striker's eye-opening TV attack of the Red Devils, he aimed a sly dig at the Gunners' recent success, hinting that he's surprised to see the north Londoners rubbing shoulders with the Premier League elite. Arsenal currently sit top of the table and are 11 points ahead of United.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored via TalkTV, Ronaldo said: "The owners of the club, listen, the Glazers; they don't care about the club. I mean, professional, sport. As you know, Manchester [United] is a [marketing] club, they get this money from the marketing. The sports, they don't really care in my opinion."

Then, when asked whether he speaks to the Glazers, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner replied: "Never. Never. They give all the power to the presidents, the sporting directors.

Morgan asked Ronaldo about the negative attitude United fans have towards the Glazers, with the owners not putting any of their own money into the pot for transfers, and myriad infrastructure issues surrounding both Old Trafford and the club's training ground.

"The fans are always right," Ronaldo added. "The fans should know the truth. They should know that the players, we want the best for the club.

"I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United. This is why I love this club."

Ronaldo continued by using Arsenal's recent success as a benchmark, implying that he's surprised to have seen the Gunners 'reach the top level'. He said: "But you have some things inside the club which don't help Manchester [United] reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal, for example.

"Which is complicated, it's difficult. It's hard, in my opinion; it will be hard for Manchester to be at the top of the game the next two or three years."

Ronaldo now faces an increasingly uncertain future at United, with the Red Devils said to be furious with his recent outburst. According to the Mirror, United are seeking legal advice and the Portugal international could be sacked if his behaviour is judged to be 'a serious enough breach of discipline'.

Before pressing forward with the next step, it's said that United want to watch the full interview, which will be aired in two parts on Wednesday and Thursday. The Mirror add that 'high-level discussions' are underway between CEO Richard Arnold, director of football John Murtough and Ten Hag.
