Robert Lewandowski was awarded the Best FIFA Men's Player award for 2021 on Monday night.
The Polish international was presented the honour for the second year running after another incredibly impressive term with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Plenty of stars were amongst the competitors for the prestigious award, but Lewandowski triumphed over all to go level with Cristiano Ronaldo as a two-time winner - the most since it was no longer known as the FIFA World Player of the Year.
2019 winner Lionel Messi claimed second spot in the running, ahead of Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah, who completed the podium.
Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema came in fourth place ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League-winning midfield duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Nevertheless, Chelsea fans will be encouraged by the fact that Ronaldo voted for Kante and Jorginho in his top three, as well as Lewandowski.
The Manchester United star is often considered to be one of - if not the best - players and certainly competitors of all time, and his votes suggest that he knows Chelsea have two world class midfielders on their books.
If anything, it's testament to how superb both Kante and Jorginho were in 2021, with the latter of those two adding a European Championship triumph to his Champions League crown.
Although the Premier League dream for this season looks all but done with Manchester City running away with proceedings at the top of the table, the duo will be looking to make 2022 another year to remember and do so by winning further honours.
They're already in a Carabao Cup final, and with the Blues favourites to win the Club World Cup, the pair may have at least a double soon enough.
