The son of Cristiano Ronaldo has potentially dropped a huge hint over where the Portuguese forward’s future could lie.
The striker submitted a shock request to leave Manchester United earlier this summer, with the club’s lack of Champions League football noted as a prime reason behind his desire to quit Old Trafford.
Since then, a number of clubs have been linked with a move for Ronaldo. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain were among those rumoured to be considering a summer swoop for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. The latest club linked with his services is surprisingly Atletico Madrid. Reports in Spain suggest that Diego Simeone is hoping to replicate Los Rojiblancos’ previous success of signing a veteran forward in former Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez.
However, Ronaldo’s youngest son Mateo appears to have dropped a huge hint over a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu, rather than Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano. In a video shared by TikTok user @Morong10, all of Ronaldo’s children accompanied long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez in attending a Rosalia concert at the WiZink Center in Madrid.
Mateo’s attire stirred intrigue, with the youngster electing to don a Real Madrid jersey for the concert. Of course, Ronaldo enjoyed a hugely successful nine years with the Spanish giants.
He made 436 appearances for Los Blancos across nine seasons, scoring 446 goals and helping the club to four Champions League crowns, as well as two La Liga titles.

The 37-year-old has regularly expressed his affection for Real Madrid, having previously claimed that he misses the Spanish capital more than Manchester. Speaking in 2019, while a Juventus player, he said: “Madrid is a city that marked me a lot, not only on football, but also on a personal level. It was the club that marked me. I have played nine years at Real Madrid and that is why I have a very special love for Madrid.”
“I miss both of them, but Madrid is where I was more years, my children have been raised here and my girl too. I miss Madrid more than Manchester,” he continued.
Ronaldo left Real in a shock £99million switch to Juventus in the summer of 2018. He stayed with the Italian club for three years but failed to lead them to Champions League glory and left last summer to seal an emotional reunion with the Red Devils.
He scored 24 goals during his first season back at Old Trafford but, despite a successful season from a personal perspective, suffered alongside his teammates as United stumbled to a sixth-placed finish under Ralf Rangnick, who replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer mid-season.
New boss Erik ten Hag has already claimed that Ronaldo will stay put. He said: "I am well informed he also has also an option, eh? Yes [he could stay beyond this season], but to be honest, of course I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead.
"I have a strategy, it’s a process, it takes time, but in the end we have to make sure from the outset there is a winning team."
