Eintracht Frankfurt chief Philip Holzer believes that Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered to every club in the Champions League after revealing that his side were sounded out over a move for the Portuguese superstar.
Ronaldo, 37, is currently a free agent after striking an agreement with Manchester United that enabled both parties to tear up the final six months of his lucrative Old Trafford deal. However, the veteran's next move is unclear, with various European clubs, including Sporting Lisbon and Bayern Munich, distancing themselves from the forward.
Frankfurt board member Axel Hellmann has confirmed that the German outfit are the latest club who have turned down the opportunity to sign Ronaldo.
He told DAZN of Ronaldo: "He was even offered to us," before Holzer added: "I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club."
Frankfurt qualified for the Champions League after winning the Europa League last term and would fit the bill as a potential destination for Ronaldo, who is believed to want one final crack at playing in the Champions League.
However, after a disappointing World Cup campaign, Ronaldo seems to have a dearth of options available: Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr have tabled a deal that would make him the highest-paid player in the world with a staggering £173m-a-year contract offer, but Ronaldo has stalled over the offer in recent weeks.
After failing to secure a move in the summer, Ronaldo has been tipped to contemplate retirement by his former Manchester United teammate Patrice Evra.

Even though Ronaldo has insisted previously that he wants to play on into his forties, Evra, who played alongside Ronaldo for three-and-a-half-years, believes that the veteran could decide to call it a day after his final opportunity to win the World Cup with Portugal came to an emotional end earlier this month.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports: “When I have talked to him I haven't spoken about what he is going to do next. We have been talking more about life and family. But I don't know [what he will do next]. Messi is saying he will retire [from the World Cup], but I don't know if Ronaldo will retire.
"Sometimes, when you are getting so much criticism, especially at the end of your career, you are like 'OK, I think it's time to stop'. That must be a feeling, especially when you are not in the starting XI of your national team, because that is what Cristiano wanted; to play, be fit and to win the World Cup with his country.
"This was his dream; now he doesn't have that dream. Although I won't talk for Cristiano, I wouldn't be surprised if he says he is retiring. Now everything Cristiano does he is a 'bad person', a 'bad player' or whatever. I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to retire."
