Cristiano Ronaldo reveals transfer offers amid Chelsea links in first Al-Nassr statement

Cristiano Ronaldo has been unveiled as a new Al-Nassr player following a period of nearly a month as a free agent. The 37-year-old had his contract terminated at Manchester United in December whilst at the World Cup with Portugal after his infamous interview with Piers Morgan was aired.

He had been linked with a shock move to Chelsea after his agent, Jorge Mendes, met with new Blues co-owner Todd Boehly last summer. Ronaldo was offered to Boehly due his desire to compete in the Champions League despite being one year into his supposed fairytale return to Old Trafford.

In his first public statement since joining the Saudi Arabian side Ronaldo revealed that he had options for his next club: "I can say now that many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, in Australia, US and even in Portugal many clubs tried to sign me.

"I gave my word to this club; only to Al Nassr."

He also added: "In Europe my work is done, I won everything. I played in the most important clubs in Europe and for me it's now a new challenge.

"I’m a unique player. I beat all records there [Europe] so I want to beat a few records here. This contract is unique because I’m a unique player as well.

"Many people speak and give their opinion but they really know nothing about football. To be honest, I really don’t worry about what people say. I took my decision."

Ronaldo has now signed a two-year mammoth contract for his new club worth a reported £177million-per-year. He continued: "It's simple; I’m coming here to win, to enjoy. What I want to is to enjoy and to smile."
