Eintracht Frankfurt chief Philip Holzer has put forward a Champions League prediction surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo - as he claims everyone was probably offered the 37-year-old.
Celtic and Rangers' returns to the elite group stage of European football were short-lived as they both exited bottom of Group A and F respectively. Ronaldo was playing Europa League football with Manchester United but is now a free agent after an explosive interview resulted in his contract being terminated.
He's now reportedly set for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr after failing to land an elite European club, and according to 2022's Europa League final winners, Ronaldo was on display for all who were involved in the prized competition. CEO Axel Hellmann told DAZN that "he was even offered to us" and it wasn't for Manchester United's lack of trying to shift him on in the summer that the legendary forward did not depart Old Trafford.
But chief Holzer goes one step further, stating "I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club" which would include Celtic, Rangers and underdogs like Maccabi Haifa and Dinamo Zagreb. It's not known whether all 32 sides were offered the Portuguese international but so far there has only been one concrete link in Ronaldo's services ahead of his next move.
