Cristiano Ronaldo has been selected to play in his record sixth European Championship as he was named in Portugal's squad for the upcoming tournament in Germany. The 39-year-old forward is part of the 26-player squad chosen by coach Roberto Martinez.

Among the notable inclusions are newly crowned champions Bernardo Silva and Rúben Dias from Manchester City, along with Premier League stars Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot from Manchester United. FC Porto's 41-year-old defender Pepe is the oldest player in the squad.

Ronaldo, who holds the record for the most international goals in men's competitions with 128 goals, has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 42 goals in 42 appearances for Al Nassr.

Midfielder Vitinha from Paris Saint-Germain and João Félix, who spent the season at Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid, have also been included in the squad. Benfica's João Neves, a 19-year-old midfielder who has been named player of the month in the Primeira Liga six times this season, is also part of the team.

Defender Gonçalo Inacio is the sole representative from Portuguese champions Sporting CP in the squad.

Portugal, who won the European Championship in 2016, will begin their Group F campaign against Czechia on June 18. They will also face Turkey and debutants Georgia in the group stage matches.
