Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have already met with new Portugal manager Roberto Martinez, as the pair reportedly discussed the Al-Nassr striker's international future during a meeting in Riyadh last week.
37-year-old Ronaldo signed a deal worth £175 million-per-year to sign for Al-Nassr last month following his difficult separation from Manchester United. Martinez, meanwhile, was visiting the Middle Eastern country to attend the Spanish Super Cup, which is when they organised a sit-down, according to L'Equipe.
Both suffered disappointment during the Qatar World Cup, which ultimately led into their conversation.

The former Wigan Athletic and Everton boss walked away from his role with Belgium following their underwhelming group stage exit, whilst Portugal's leading appearance-maker and goalscorer was dropped by then-manager Fernando Santos in the knockout stages as they were sent home by Morocco in the quarter finals, leaving the pitch in tears after what many believed would be his last hoorah.
However, it is increasingly likely that won't be the case, as the French publication report that Martinez's arrival may mean there is a future for Ronaldo in the Seleção squad.
They say that Martinez is very keen to have Ronaldo around for Portugal's upcoming Euro 2024 qualification campaign and the Spaniard hinted at Ronaldo's continued importance at his unveiling last week: "Decisions are made on the pitch," he said. "I don't make decisions in the office. I hope to contact all the players.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is a player that makes the list, he has been in the national team for 19 years. I hope we can sit down with him and create the best team."
Well, it appears that Martinez is wasting no time as he looks to get his affairs in order straight away. He will take to the dugout for the first time with in his second international managerial job in the March to take on Liechtenstein and Luxembourg - the first fixtures in Portugal's road to Germany 2024.
It sounds largely positive for Ronaldo should he wish to right his country's wrongs and end his career on a high - after all, it can't get much worse than the recent World Cup, seeing his peer Lionel Messi go on to lift the coveted trophy.
For now though, his focus will be getting off the mark in his new home, Saudi Arabia. The former United forward captained a Saudi All-Star XI against Messi's PSG in an exhibition fixture on Thursday, and will make his Al-Nassr debut in the Saudi Pro League later this month.
