Wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo has been floated for a improbable move to Celtic by Alan Brazil as he continues to explore an exit out of Manchester United.
The Portuguese superstar played 45 minutes in his first friendly of the summer after missing most of the pre-season camp due to a family issue but was hooked at half-time by boss Erik ten Hag against Rayo Vallecano, and replaced with former Rangers loanee Amad Diallo. The 37-year-old has made it clear to Old Trafford chiefs that he wants to leave the club for Champions League football but his options appear to be rapidly dwindling.
Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are among the elite clubs to pull the plug on any potential move for the forward, while a fairytale return to Sporting has been ruled out by the Portuguese side. However, talkSPORT Breakfast Show host Brazil reckons he has found a solution to Ronaldo's problems as he pitched a move to the Scottish Premiership this summer.
The Scottish champions will go straight into the group stage of Champions League after claiming the league title last term. Brazil reckons Ange Postecoglou could offer an obvious solution if the Parkhead club's principal shareholder Dermot Desmond get involved.
Celtic diehard Brazil suggested on talkSPORT: “He wants Champions League football. Celtic? What if (Dermot) Desmond sends his private jet for him?”
However, Rangers icon Ally McCoist was quick to shut down any talk of a move. He responded: “There’s no danger that is happening. So forget that, just rule that out of equation.”
